EPCOT

Gather with family and friends to celebrate the fascinating cultures and numerous wonders of the world around you through dazzling shows, interactive experiences and amazing attractions. Marvel at the power of the human imagination to set the spirits soaring.

On the 1st October 1982, exactly 11 years following the opening of the Magic Kingdom, EPCOT became the second park to be built within the Walt Disney World resort. Dedicated to international culture and technological innovation, in 2008 EPCOT hosted approximately 10.93 million guests, ranking it the sixth most visited theme park in the World.

The name EPCOT derives from the acronym Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow, a utopian community of the future planned by Walt Disney. To quote Walt Disney: "EPCOT... will take its cue from the new ideas and new technologies that are now emerging from the centers of American industry. It will be a community of tomorrow that will never be completed, but will always be introducing and testing and demonstrating new materials and systems. And EPCOT will always be a showcase to the world for the ingenuity and imagination of American free enterprise."
